Decent Week Update

Image
Salve--Hola--Hello--live long and prosper. Happy Sunday to you all--and welcome to Hannah's update of the week OML (On-My-Life), in The Year of Gapness. This is likely to be short, divided over a day or two, and less-detailed (though, knowing what a stickler I am for details, not sure how long that will last)--due to the fact that I've just gotten back from a college retreat over the weekend in Black Mountain, NC, with my church (Summit). Currently, I'm tired (late nights = practically assumed for girls on retreats), a tad worn out emotionally and spiritually and socially, and more than a little over junk food in any shape or form. (*begins diet with a new vengeance* *sleeps until noon*) Anyways, the week--or what I remember of it; for some reason, the events (earlier on especially) are starting to blur in my brain. Wait, no, I need to start with how today went--no, but that's somewhat dependent on the linearity of the week as it happened--UGH, okay, we're just...

Weekly thought/subject (re: brief bit on police/race stuff)

With all that's been going on recently, pertaining to police reactions, shooting questions, racial questions, and societal discussions, this is a bit of something I posted on Facebook; a few articles and notes that I (a) felt really said it well or outlined things in a way I resonated with, and (b) partially to calmly get a few things off of my chest and mind. ********************************************************************** Re: what's hot right now (i.e. a few thoughts in light of certain events)... To cap this off: I'm grieved, worried, and frustrated in many ways over this (and events similar to it)--just as so many of us are. The loss of a human life, injustice, brutality, and the sinfulness and fallenness of our world (and the ways we see this manifested) weigh on my mind at all times (and cost me not a little sleep). Just because I disagree about the solution doesn't in ANY way mean that (a) I'm not concerned or affected, or (b) that I deny that ther...

Much Greetings (1st Life Update)

Bonsoir, comment ca va? Estoy empezando a aprender frances -- as well as ASL, but I can't very well sign that on here. Also, I can't figure out how to write in Greek, and I'm still barely over the alphabet, so no point anyways. Still, it's fun. #edjemmicaytion (is it me, or does this remind me of Miranda Sings. 'Cause yes. My parents know what I'm talking about.) Anyhow, let's see--here's where I sit down, turn on the Christmas music (because I am one of those individuals. Also, I will eat icing by the canful. Bringing you that freshness in September like kool aid on the block.) #christmas #fear It's currently raining (unexpectedly) outside, which is good--we need water, and the garden's gotten too dry (my poor melons are decimated, alas). It comes in fits and starts. Anyhow. Today (Sunday) was good--being the Sabbath, there are certain routines that fall into place and pretty much remain (so I don't have to elaborate every time I di...

The Madness Begins

Well, will ya look at this. Amidst the shambles of this semi-completed blog page, whilst the gap year has already begun, Hannah Pulcherrima (hey, my Latin teacher called me that, not me) has hopefully figured out how to post proper blogstuffs, and prepareth to unleash herself on the world. We'll see. Anyhow, this is gonna be fun. (fact: in case you didn't notice or know, I rather like Star Trek. If not, this is gonna be a long journey together.) (coming on a little strong with the Trekkieness already, aren't we) (whatEVER) This page will serve me, over the next Year of Gapness (henceforth how it shalt be referred to), as a convenient method of documentation (GOTTA PROVE I DID SOMETHING WITH MY LYFE DURING MY GAP EY NCSU? ALRIGHT THEN, BY GOLLY I WILL *throws oreo*). (another fact: I have a love-hate relationship with Oreos) (they don't care about info like that Hannah, what even) I'll be updating OML (on-my-life) every Saturday or Sunday--being the ind...
