Much Greetings (1st Life Update)

Bonsoir, comment ca va? Estoy empezando a aprender frances -- as well as ASL, but I can't very well sign that on here. Also, I can't figure out how to write in Greek, and I'm still barely over the alphabet, so no point anyways. Still, it's fun. #edjemmicaytion
tbh this was for a weight loss article but she looks like miranda sings so i pinned it:
(is it me, or does this remind me of Miranda Sings. 'Cause yes. My parents know what I'm talking about.)

Anyhow, let's see--here's where I sit down, turn on the Christmas music (because I am one of those individuals. Also, I will eat icing by the canful. Bringing you that freshness in September like kool aid on the block.)
The Kool-aid man destroys the last remaining ancient wonder of the world to give a kid a sugary drink.
#christmas #fear

It's currently raining (unexpectedly) outside, which is good--we need water, and the garden's gotten too dry (my poor melons are decimated, alas). It comes in fits and starts. Anyhow.
Today (Sunday) was good--being the Sabbath, there are certain routines that fall into place and pretty much remain (so I don't have to elaborate every time I discuss this). Went to Summit Downtown (the Summit Church campus in downtown Durham, meets at the Carolina Theatre), with the family--in a rental car with my mom, no less, which we had since she's leaving tomorrow for a locum (out-of-town job at another hospital, delivering babies and dealing with drama. Like the fancy boss that she is). Quite the treat to have functional air conditioning, sufficient leg room, and an actual. Legit. Radio. Wowza.
(not that I'm complaining about our green, ancient, shoulda-died-a-long-long-time-ago '94 Ford Ranger truck. Oh, no. At least we have a car.)
After church with le fam (including Jeffrey), with sermon by the indefatigable Jason Gaston (who did a great job and made excellent points), I headed off with dad to my usual work at Brier Creek Summit Kids, 11:30 service (where I serve as Worship Leader/Small Group Leader for grades 2-4 and K-1). That went pretty well--we had a good group of kids, and I think I'm getting the hang of this new level (I've moved up to 2nd-4th grade from originally being with the 1st graders). Overall, I feel like Summit Kids is doing quite well. Matt (a.k.a. Pastor Matt, Summit Kids Pastor), does a wonderful job; he's my favorite kids pastor, so far. A blessing to have, and someone I hope stays a good long while (as the Lords wills). Service went well, including worship (though the one little redhead I had up on stage who abandoned doing the motions entirely and crisscrossed the platform seemingly at random--well, thanks hun, made it interesting..), and our small group afterwards was good. Not my best job I've *ever* done, but still well gone, I think. Headed home with mi padre, ate Indian food with him and mum (she and The Brother went out to an Indian place for buffet), and then read/napped for awhile in the company of my black cat, the Codester. (or, just Cody)
Eventually finished being lazy (a Sunday tradition for us), got up, and wrote my weekly correspondences (a tradition of mine I try to fulfill, at least 2-3 letters I send off to varied friends), emptied trash cans and cat pans, took care of animals, and did sundry other things before heading to a (late) bedtime in anticipation of swim early tomorrow.

This week saw my first go at coaching for DAMA--which is very cool, almost as cool as everyone there, all bosses in their own right. :-) Aside from struggling ridiculously with the lock for about a total of 10 minutes (it was a combination lock, and it was too early in the morning #excuses), as well as sweating way too much in normal clothing (the warm chlorine thing is great only if you're in swimming gear, mostly)--it was good. I enjoyed coaching, giving tips, maybe dancing a tad on the pool deck (I had "Thriller stuck in my mind, what can I do about that? Pentatonixs' Michael Jackson Medley was to blame). And I get to swim as much as I want (i.e. Monday-Wednesday-Friday) all-paid, for doing this every two weeks. For that, I think I can easily stomach coaching more.

(why, Hannah, did you choose that gif out of all the possible ones?)
(shut up, it's late and I need to finish this. Everything's under control)
(yeah right)

I also had my twice-weekly dance classes that I take as an "adult" @ TYB (Triangle Youth Ballet), which were good and chill and all. One of my best friends, The Bean by name (my choice of name), ended up in my class session as well on Tuesday, so that was a lot of fun. We messed with each other, jabbered nonsensically, got mocked by Ms. Teacher (i.e. Ms. Kate), argued and insulted each other, and overall made a mess of things, I'm sure. Quite enjoyable.
ryanishka: “myowangs: “Oksana Skorik and Vladimir Shklyarov ” my eyes almost just fell out of my head ”
(unfortunately, our dancing didn't quite resemble this. Wish it did. Perhaps if interpreted as me ruining The Bean's dancing [she being a very good dancer, especially compared to me], it's more applicable. :D)
Thursday class was also good, despite the absence of The Bean. Worked on brisees (one of my less favored steps), had some rough moments, but overall okay. I will say, though, my exercise reflexes from other athletics (i.e. basketball, softball, soccer, even swim) do me wrong in the classroom--I sweat like, I don't know, a socially inept elephant? (that's not a thing, but let's keep going) And my classmates, in comparison, don't. I've all but thrown out my light-colored leotards since by the end of class, they're stained and spotted and I'm usually sporting a batman-shaped sweat mark on my abdomen. (Is that a skill? Seems like one)

Other things--in short, because I need to go to bed and get stuff done, etc,... I worked at my childcare job for Classical Conversations; listened to a lot of Weird Al (that's what my musically varied brain liked this week the most); continued to learn ASL (past the alphabet, colors, and some pronouns) + Greek (just the alphabet) + French (still the basics, but enjoying learning it thus far); cleaned, organized, and took care of pets and the household; did more music than usual (dusting off my piano and questionable vocal skills), and perhaps a teense more art (which can be a lot of things); worked out (though not as much as I would have liked) on my own; did more touch typing (which is strangely comforting); caught up on my Bible reading (gonna read this hull book through FINALLY *cue Nacho Libre's "Religious Man"*

...and enjoyed (in varying degrees) the fact that I actually can exist, breathe air, and live another day at a time (that alone is pretty mind-blowing, if you consider it). I also continued my habit (which I'd suggest as a healthy thing to do) of jotting down, daily, (a) a random thot (thought, just my own speeling 'cause I'm special)--poetical, a question, something pretty or strange or that stuck in my head (originality being key); and (b) a memory--any one, really. I sometimes feel as if my head will implode from all I store in it--and I like pulling out random bits and pieces of good or sweet or poignantly nice moments from there, like brightly colored tissues. Which I would then blow my nose on, 'cause I'm semi-sick at the moment as well (something's going around). Dangit, that kinda ruins the metaphor....Or like tufts of cotton candy. Or stuffing from a plush toy...Nope. Let's just abandon that ship. Forget the metaphors. We were headed somewhere poetic, too.

Many more things happened, though I'm loath to share since I'm tired, and this is the Internet (makes creepy NSA fingers). Not quite my journal (although you can stay out of that too, mastor haxxors)
My weekly Something I Want But Can't Have: A bread pillow. I partially blame my diet (which didn't deal too well with me this week), as well as my propensity for stuffed toys, for this, but I've wanted one for awhile. Just...look at it. I don't know why, but I want it so badly. Please.

Also, the randomest of Brain Fruit for your consideration: a combination of two things I hate. Imagine to yourself, a furby clown. *shudders* The world can be a dark place, kids. I hate furbys (would like to destroy one, though--am I mixing them up with Gremlins?), and clowns--especially with this rash of creepy clown appearances in SC and NC. (my black steel machete awaits your mug, if you clowns try anything)

Welp.

I'll be snoozing on our red couch tonight, since Bunny the cat decided my bed was the perfect place to vomit after consuming his dinner. >:-(
Much jimmies so rustle
(also, this is a very useful meme for many things. I'd suggest saving it for later.)

A hot cup of rooibos tea, with a lot of milk and slightly too much honey (that sweet tooth, though), has been consumed, as well as other bedtime-related activities. The cats peer at me, waiting impatiently for me to go to sleep so that they can sit on me/jump over me/disrupt me. I know what you're up to, spoiled lil beasties.

(How'd I end up with 7 of you bratty, weird, messy furballs? I still wonder.
And I say I don't want to go into small animal practice. -_-)

This has been my OML update; the ride has been rad. Overall, a good week--hey, I was alive, the grace of God hasn't given out, and I'm unfairly blessed. And so are you, whoever you is. Go in the knowledge of that. (but not before following my blog. *makes a double chin face*)

Bah
